I fee privileged and honoured to have been picked up to deliver this lecture associated with the name of Prof.P.L. Bhatnagar. I must thank IMS for bestowing upon me such an honour. It is more so as I had never been able to contribute directly to IMS in terms of my participation in its annual meetings. Prof. Bhatnagar, although contributed to Applied Mathematics but viewed it as part of Mathematics as a whole. He always tried to be aware of the development son the Other side of the coin.
