Growing investment in vessels that can meet acceleratedand ever-more exacting demand from the off shorerenewables market fi gures prominently in the multifacetedfl eet development and renewal strategy of theLuxembourg-headquartered Jan De Nul construction anddredging group.A highlight of the programme is a 237m newbuildincorporating a 5,000t lift-capacity crane, and engineered toUltra Low Emission vessel (ULEv) standard, on which steelcutting commenced during early December. Designed toeffect installation work afloat rather than in jack-up mode,the ship is due to enter service in 2022 under the name LesAlizés (Trade Winds).
