Earlier in 2010, Tognum subsidiary L'Orange celebrated the production of its 500,000th injector. The company says this achieves a new record for the manufacturer of high pressure injection systems for diesel and heavy-oil engines. According to L'Orange, electronically-controlled injection technology is a major element in the achievement of low-emissions in diesel engines while maintaining low fuel consumption - the electronic control system allows achievement of an optimum balance between injection pressure, timing and sequence.
