Finnish company Steerprop has announced a contract with the Sinopacific Shipbuilding Group of China, for the delivery of 48 azimuth propulsors for 16 offshore support ships. Steerprop says that this sale is in addition to the four ship sets of propulsors contacted earlier this year to Sinopacific. Deliveries are scheduled for 2011 and 2012. Each of the 16 AHTS ships will be equipped with three Steerprop azimuth propulsors, which will serve as main propulsion.
