The new cylinder for the North Yorkshire Moors Railway's BR 4MT 2-6-0 No. 76079 has been cast by Cerdic Foundries Ltd at its Chard foundry. The NYMR anticipates the 4MT returning to traffic before the end of this year. The casting was made from a pattern prepared forThe 82045 Steam Locomotive Trust's new-build Riddles 3MT 2-6-2T No. 82045. When the newly cast cylinder has been satisfactorily machined for the NYMR, two further castings will then be made for No. 82045. Meanwhile, riveting of the front buffer beam of No. 82045 has been completed at Bridgnorth, with attention switched to riveting the rear end of the chassis.
