The Isle of Wight Steam Railway's 'Terrier' No. W8 Freshwater, which at one time ran on the Hayling Island branch, was in action for the loWSR's November 9-10 'Hayling Billy 50'event. However, newly overhauled LBSCR0-6-0T'Terrier'No.W11 Newport was not ready in time to participate. Its place for the weekend was taken by LSWR 02 0-4-4T No. W24 Calbourne. The event marked the 50th anniversary of the Hayling Island branch closing.
