The trailing tender wheelset of the North Yorkshire Moors Railway's'Black Five' No. 45428 Eric Treacy derailed on October 29. The incident happened as the loco was moving back into the Bog Hall sidings at Whitby, while running round its train. A bus replacement service was arranged for passengers intending to travel on the last departure from Whitby. With the NYMR-owned locomotive being on Network Rail-owned track, Eric Treacy was re-railed that evening by NYMR staff from Grosmont MPD under Network Rail supervision.
