In his latest book, National Insecurity: American Leadership in an Age of Fear, David Rothkopf produces a compelling read that examines the unprecedented foreign- and national-security policy challenges that have faced the United States' decision-makers over the last ten years. Even-handed, thoroughly documented and well-researched (with over 100 interviews conducted), Rothkopf's narrative takes the reader through a holistic exploration of policy decisions that were developed and implemented during the last two presidential administrations and the reasons behind their successes and failures. Most importantly, he lays out a compelling case as to why the National Security Council (NSC) policy-making process must be better used by future presidents.
