This exhibition is the first to examine both the culture of remembrance and the social and aesthetic impact of the First World War on Britain, France and Germany between 1916 and 1932. It gives an insight into the lives and changed imaginations of the war artists and others who created art after the First World War as a response to their unprecedented experiences during the conflict. It has many powerful moments which vividly portray the psychological and physical effects of war on the human body and spirit.
