I led the journal in the position of Editor-in-Chief since 1988. This was a difficult period in the country's life. It was difficult for the journal as well. These were the years in which very rapid development of thermal power engineering gave way to the period of stagnation and decline of production. Accordingly, the years of intense development of thermal power engineering as science gave place to the period in which many scientific research works were curtailed, and new developments in construction of machinery and equipment for thermal and nuclear power industries became much fewer in number.
