A method for the express-evaluation of the concentration of surfactants in water is considered. The developed model, ODA-Monitor adsorption electrochemical instrument, is described; it is used for reagentless express-detection of octadecylamine in samples of process water during the preservation of energy-generating equipment. The mechanism of the formation of protecting films is outlined. The possibility of using this instru- ment for assessing the level of the protection offered by different surfactants and emulsions based on them is shown.
