This year, Linde Material Handling (LMH) forewent CeMAT, opting to hold its own event for customers in Mainz, where over 150 trucks were displayed, product demonstrations were in demand, and visitors could trial Linde models against its competitors. It's a bold customer-focussed move by the Fork Lift Truck manufacturer. Around 6,000 customers attended Linde's 'World of Material Handling' event throughout May. According to the head of product marketing Tobias Zierhut, who presented lithium-ion technology to us, the move was made because: "For the time being, our focus in the field of organised events is on individual customer interactions that offer LMH customers the opportunity to immediately experience our products and test them in direct comparison with competitor products. Based on what we have learned from road shows, customer events and the recent 'product clinics', we are convinced that we can respond to our customers' expectations and requirements more dynamically at such events. And the success of the World of Material Handling bears that out."
