Operators' video-on-de-mand and IPTV services are in danger of being hit for six by over-the-top content delivery, as broadcasters and sporting associations look to sell programming directly over the Internet. But on-demand Web content is also a growing source of revenues for wholesale telecoms operators, whichrnare starting to strike deals with sporting associations that bypass the broadcasters.rnOperators' extensive networks make them ideally placed to provide the international reach that some content providers are looking for. Already, wholesale operators report they are starting to sign more sophisticated content delivery contracts to enable the provisioning of video-on-demand services.
