The path to growth, until now, has been led by voice, a proven application that had minimal cultural or learning curve issues. Mobile suppliers put out a quality phone or voice network, and the world beat a path to their door. But, average revenue per user (ARPU) numbers from voice are declining, so carriers have turned to data applications to help raise ARPU back up.
