With today's demand for increased productivity by regulators, business and organizational leadership there is a rising search and demand to find measurable ways to improve and enhance performance in safe and sustainable ways. With a changing workforce the nuclear energy industry, as most others, will feel the pressure to improve performance through innovative training and education programs. Performance System Institutes have been established in several colleges and universities. More are on the way. The academic community is in a unique position to develop alliances with business and organizations through a Performance System Institute. The PSI, both domestically and internationally, will be able to positively impact organizational performance through: 1. Applications of Human Performance Technology to individual and organizational situations that leads to measurable superior performance 2. Application can be to public and private sector organizations Application of strategic and systematic approaches to performance situations will enable individuals and organizations to solve business, organizational and organizational performance problems.
