Mutual separation characteristics for binary oxide mixtures Y_2O_3-Sm_2O_3, Y_2O_3-La_2O_3, Y_2O_3-Nd_2O_3 and Y_2O_3-Sm_2O_3 using a stepwise selective chlorination-chemical vapor transport(SC-CVT) reaction mediated by vapor complexes KLnCl_4 were investigated. The total transported yields of the chlorides produced from the oxide mixtures are in the order of NdCl_3 >SmCl_3 >LaCl_3 >YCl_3>ScCl_3, the main deposition temperature of the chlorides is in the order of ScCl_3
