摘要

This study presents a comprehensive analysis of two configurations of a combined-cycle gas-turboelectric propulsion system for large LNG carriers in terms of reliability and cost. The analysis of the two configurations enabled a comparison of their performance on a given trade route. The performance analyses provided the estimation of the electric power loads with diverse voyage modes between the two configurations. The difference in the reliability and availability between the two process configurations inferred the cost evaluation. The results address overall availability, performance, and life-cycle cost of the gas turbine propulsion system for an LNG carrier.
