This sight will hopefully become more common once all the problems with the Bombardier built NGR rolling stock for QR has had its issues sorted out. Here QR's NGR 708 test train waits at Helensvale Station while Bombardier built Flexity 2 light rail vehicle 04 waits in the adjacent light rail Station as regular timetabled test runs commenced. Bombardier Flexity 2 LRV 08 was photographed in the process of crossing the extremely wide intersection of Olsen Avenue, Wintergreen and Parklands Drives before diving into the underground portion of the line into Gold Coast University Hospital Station. This intersection has had the equivalent of 14 lanes of traffic crossing 9 lanes and is the only one on the system on which an entire 43.4 m long tram can be easily filmed crossing.
