摘要

This article provides a review of doctoral research in any field related to railway engineering, carried out successfully between 2006 and 2008 in Australian universities. The review period coincides with the biennial Conference on Railway Engineering (CORE) conducted by Railway Technical Society of Australasia (RTSA). By means of searching digital thesis databases, contacting all universities and connecting to the Australian Cooperative Research Centre for Rail Innovation (Rail CRC), the comprehensive list of related information can be achieved. The main objective of this paper is to transfer technology to Australian railway industry. In this review article, the abstracts are sorted by alphabetical order, first by university name and then by author surname; and the keyword indices are associated with the authors. Statistical analysis and research classification are also discussed in order to illustrate current research trend and funding allocation strategy into rolling stocks, infrastructure, systems technology, and rail operations and economics.
