Software is the most important part of all sewer inspections. However, while the industry advanced to digital files in two to three years, many small cities and towns remained in the pencil, paper and human memory era. Is it any wonder what digital data they have is in total chaos?rnCollecting data is the most difficult part of the inspection program and managing it is the most important part. Cities spend $2 or $3 per foot to inspect pipe but lack the knowledge to save the data in a recoverable format. When hiring contractors, the cities and their engineers do not address half of the data specifications that should be in bids. They simply do not know what to ask for.
