The Contra Costa Water District (CCWD) in Con-cord, Calif., is building its new Alternative Intake Project (AIP) near its existing pumping facilities in the Delta region east of the San Francisco Bay. The new AIP project will provide an alternative untreated water intake facility at Victoria Canal, where the water quality is typically better than that at the current intake location on Old River.
