A headline from a recent USA Today article in May read, "Aging systems releasing sewage into rivers, streams." I took a moment to think about that before I responded. I knew this day would come - when the general public would learn about the challenges our industry tackles every day. I quickly typed up a letter-to-the-editor, thanking him for shedding light on this important and growing issue. I noted that we need strong support from our lawmakers and the public to pay for what we're using. Americans have long lived without paying for this most precious vital public asset - our sewer systems.
