The Water Resources Development Act (WRDA) of 2007, vetoed by President Bush, sailed through Congress on Nov. 8 to mark the first time a Bush veto had been overridden and the first override since 1998. The override passed through the House 361-54, followed by a 79-14 vote in the Senate. The override was expected as the measure easily passed earlier in the fall by counts of 81-12 in the Senate and 381-40 in the House.
