Despite having all the necessary ingredients on hand, Anthony Piscitelli unfortunately has not written the book that will stand as the defining chronicle of the adoption of maneuver warfare by the Marine Corps. The author, an adjunct professor who teaches maritime security courses at the SUNY Maritime College, enjoyed tremendous access to many of the key players who made the decisions that put the Corps on the road from an attrition mind-set toward maneuver, or "the thinking way of warfare," conducting dozens of interviews.
