A recent medical casualty response and resupply demonstration has shown how unmanned air and ground vehicles can be supervised together by a single operator. The scenario involved a distress call from a ground unit reporting a casualty, requiring ground operators to send an unmanned ground vehicle to assess the area and injured party. The ground operators were using control stations that communicated with each other using the unmanned aircraft system control segment (UCS) architecture.
