Cornell University, veterans of the AUVSI Foundation's Student Unmanned Air Systems Competition, took first place and a purse of $7,450 at this year's event, held 19-22 June at Naval Air Station Patuxent River, Md. A record number of 35 teams from around the world competed in the event - including some high school students - with six teams placing and claiming cash prizes. North Carolina State came in second with $4,450, and Kansas State in third with a prize of $3,950. Rounding out the top six slots were Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University of Florida in fourth, Embry-Riddles Arizona cam- pus in fifth and India's Delhi Technological University in sixth.
