As we look back on January many of us will recount how well we are doing with our New Year's resolutions. With every new year comes the hope for a brighter future. For the past decade we have seen a number of changes in the world, and in the last couple of years we have experienced major financial uncertainty in our world economy. How does the future look for unmanned systems? It's highly likely we will continue to see a steady growth in the development, fielding and acceptance of unmanned systems throughout the world. Advancements in supportive and associated technologies - such as digital data links, energy supplies, and sensing and perception systems -will carry on with the fielding and utilization of unmanned systems. The military will continue to be predominant users of unmanned systems, but there are indicators of an upswing in the civil and commercial markets.
