Although unmanned aircraft market growth has leveled off somewhat after several years of double-digit annual percent increases, the UAS electro-optical/infrared (EO/IR) system market has entered a period of continuing steady growth. It won't travel the peaks and valleys of the last decade, with forecast compound annual growth rates (CAGRs) of eight to nine percent annually over the Teal Group's 10-year forecast period. Teal Group Corp. estimates that UAS EO/IR system spending available to U.S. manufacturers will grow from $813 million in fiscal 2011 to nearly $1.7 billion in FY '20 (a CAGR of 8.2 percent).
