摘要

October means fall is in the air. Our senses are filled with the sight of leaves turning brilliant shades of red and gold. It is a time to reflect on the year's harvest and prepare for the upcoming winter. It is also a time to reflect on the seeds planted earlier this year by AUVSI's research team and where that harvest stands today. During 2011, the AUVSI research team developed a database relevant to the entire international unmanned systems community. That database is a global inventory of unmanned systems platforms across the air, ground and maritime domains. The data collected includes, but is not limited to, technical specifications, payloads, unmanned applications, demographic factors, contact information and financial variables. That the unmanned systems market is no longer restrained by geographical constraints is evidenced by the fact that our membership hails from more than 50 different countries. The creation of new products and services to support our membership and the robotics and unmanned systems market is truly a global enterprise.
