Not far from Easterwood Field Airport in College Station, Texas, lies 52 acres of land where building collapses, train derailments and tornados are everyday occurrences.rnThis area, which sounds like the average person's worst nightmare, is actually a first responder's dream. The facility is known as Disaster City, and it is the largest and most sophisticated training center for rescue personnel in the United States. Typically the site is filled with police officers, firefighters and urban search and rescue (USAR) workers, but for one week a year the makeshift streets and rubble piles are home to emergency response robots.
