If, as everyone predicts, unmanned vehicles become I more prevalent in the military's arsenal as well as in commercial applications, then issues regarding their control will need to be addressed directly and immediately. While attention was drawn to the capabilities of unmanned aerial vehicles during the war in Afghanistan, their shortcomings were highlighted as well. Unmanned air vehicles, it was noted, were not nearly inexpensive enough to be truly considered "expendable" (one of their supposed selling points), and they, on occasion, crashed. In order to make these systems truly cheaper, safer, and more efficient and reliable, improvements would be necessary.
