My colleague and I sit watching as people stream toward the Santa Clara Marriott in the heart of Silicon Valley, heads down, focused, walking fast. All dark-skinned, all Indian or Pakistani, some older, some younger. "I think we found the meeting," I say to Frances, my companion. Even from a distance we can hear the buzz of conversation flowing from the several doorways leading to the hotel. Those moving purposefully to the hotel are dressed in suits, slacks and shirts: not many ties, but a few. "I'm just not dressed for this," complains Frances, visibly disturbed. I had abducted her from work on a spring Sunday afternoon in our San Francisco offices to take her on this visit to the monthly meeting of The IndUS Entrepreneurs (TiE) group, the alter ego of the angels meeting also sponsored by TiE.
