NORWAY'S Equinor is continuing with its effort to satisfy the demands of Australia's regulator in its bid to drill the Stromlo-1 wildcat exploration well in the Great Australian Bight. Equinor has just provided extra information to satisfy the regulator's request, which was made in late June this year. The National Offshore Petroleum Safety & Environmental Management Authority (Nopsema) has given itself until 14 November to assess the new information from Equinor, and the rest of the proposal, and through this assessment will consider potential environmental impacts from the planned drilling campaign.
