Lurking not far beneath the surface of the 2000 presidential election were two sharply different visions of the nation's future. One election will not determine which of the two the American people will choose, but the outcome could set us down the road toward one or the other. The choice is between an expanding entitlement state and the concept of a nation of investors and entrepreneurs.
