As this issue went to press, the Eurocopter X~3 demonstrator had completed the first of its five-city American tour. Showing its stuff to civilian operators and potential customers, the high-speed compound helicopter got rave reviews. Braving the Texas heat, the X~3 conducted nearly daily flights as part of Eurocopter's"X3 U.S. Demo Tour" based at American Eurocopter's Grand Prairie facility.
