In recent months, Eurocopter - a world leader in the rotorcraft industry - has announced alliances with industrial partners in Spain, Australia, China, Japan, South Korea and the United States that effectively extend the firm's production capabilities to each of these countries. It is part of an international trend to outsource labor and services to countries that offer a "comparative advantage." This universally accepted economic adage applies to many industries, but particularly to aerospace.
