Inmarsat is working with Vizada to promote the benefits of BGAN to the mining community in the Philippines. Inmarsat and Vizada recently hosted a one-day workshop to introduce BGAN to mining companies in the region. The Philippines has previously been one of the world's top producers of chromite, copper, nickel and gold. Levels of mining development in the country are on the increase, aided by government initiatives that are designed to improve mineral resource exploration. Business Monitor International (BMI) forecasts 6.4 percent growth per annum for the industry from 2008 to 2012.
