Issues about the possibility, advisability and advantages of the application of plant dyes for textiles in comparison with synthetic dyes are discussed. After studying the peculiarities of "folk" dying technology, the compounding and conditions of carrying out prior operations and dyeing for woolen and different kinds of cellulose yarn were determined. The color light resistance for sun and artificial irradiation and the stability of color as a result of different physical and chemical influences was estimated by standard methods.
