The FDA plans to release a new guidance establishing a standard for unique identification for prescription drug packages.rnThe guidance will help identify the location and authenticity of specific drug packages and distinguish them from counterfeits, Joshua Sharfstein, FDA principal deputy commissioner, said March 10 to the House Energy and Commerce health subcommittee.
