The Iowa attorney general is suing 78 drug companies, claiming they inflated drug price information to increase reimbursements from the state's Medicaid program.The drug manufacturers deliberately increased the reported average wholesale price (AWP) of their drugs in a "grotesque abuse of the Medicaid reimbursement system," Iowa Attorney General Tom Miller said. He added that Iowa has lost millions of dollars due to the misreported drug prices. The complaint was filed Oct. 9 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Iowa.
