THE MISSION: Fly N5257H, a Cessna 172 on PK 2300B straight floats, from Will Rogers Wiley Post seaplane base (W36) on Lake Washington in Renton, Washington, across the country to Lucky Landing (06B) on the shores of Pushaw Lake just outside Bangor, Maine. Reason? Why not fly a floatplane across the country for the fun and adventure of it. Avidly consuming SPA's Water Flying articles and reading about other people's adventures together with looking at the floats gathering dust in the hangar all seemed reason enough to do it.
