On June 11, 2015, Seaplane Pilots Association Colorado Field Di rector Ray Hawkins, Colorado Pilots Association President Ann Beardall, and SPA Executive Director Steve McCaughey attended a Colorado Parks and Wildlife Commission meeting to present the case to change current CPW policy that effectively bans seaplanes from a percentage of Colorado waters. (No official public waterways in the state are open to seaplanes.) Even though all that was asked was an opportunity to sit down and work with the agency to explore the facts and risks based on data that has been complied by U.S. government agencies, the commission voted unanimously against even opening up a discussion with the parks commission.
