N168WS is a 1946 G-73 Grumman Mallard that has been owned by Pantechnicon Aviation, Ltd in Minden, Nevada, since 1996. It was totally restored to original condition 10 years ago. The rest of the Pantechnicon Aviation fleet consists of a Dornier DO28B-1, Dornier DO27, Dornier DO28D-2, a Helio H700, and a de Havilland Beaver on amphib floats. Poor John Fuller has to fly all of them! In addition to using these company aircraft for movies and publicity work, the company also leases several single-turbine Otters to a floatplane operator in Ketchikan, Alaska. John's first flight in a Mallard was in the one owned by his great uncle, Frank Fuller, in 1950. Frank was a two-time winner of the Bendix Trophy Race, a Douglas Aircraft production test pilot during World War II, and a director of United Airlines. John worked for Bendix Aerospace for many years before landing this dream job.
