The state of Virginia's Aviation Department, Virginia's newly formed Virginia Seaplane Pilots Association, and SPA hosted the first annual splash-in at the Lake Gaston Resort in Gasburg, Virginia, in early October. The event was hosted by the incredibly gracious Lake Gaston Resort, otherwise known as "The Club." The first-ever event of its kind has been a 30-year dream of Steve Harris, the Director of Flight Operations and Safety at the Virginia Department of Aviation, who has been a long-time resident on the lake.
