The IWRA has come a long way since its creation in 1972. For almost 40 years, IWRA has been playing a leading role in shaping the global water scene, bringing together its members and water stakeholders, publishing the journal Water International and presiding over 13 World Water Congresses. Past and present - the various Presidents, Vice-Presidents, Secretaries General, Treasurers, Executive Boards, Committees, Executive Directors, Executive Offices, teams and members - have all contributed enormously to making IWRA the global institution that it is today.
