To address issues related to water and climate change, IWA, together with a group of concerned organizations, led by the National Water Commission of Mexico (CONAGUA), joined forces throughout 2010 with a view to placing water at the heart of the climate change agenda. These activities came together during the 16th Conference of the Parties (COP 16) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) in Cancun, Mexico, in December 2010, in the shape of the Dialogs for Water and Climate Change (D4WCC), an associated event supported by the Mexican federal government.
