摘要

Selective laser melting (SLM) is one of a number of techniques which is included within the generic term Additive Manufac¬turing (AM). SLM makes components using a layer by layer approach and is increasingly being used for the manufacture of highly complex components where subtractive processes (particularly machining from sol¬id) have previously been used. The benefits of using this process include CAD to part capability, high process flexibility, and the ability to produce fine, intricate features with great accuracy and repeatability. The process also enables the economical use of precious and expensive materials while min¬imising energy consumption and material waste.
