1. Huawei was the first issue between the two countries, after the UK allowed, with restrictions, the Chinese vendor to roll out 5G networks. There had been threats of great consequences prior to the decision, especially in relation with intelligence-sharing, but this has yet to be fully implemented. The US is continuing to pressure the UK, with several Conservative MPs also focusing on the security issue to impose greater restrictions and even a total ban. It seems any resolution would involve stopping using Huawei equipment after a certain date, which does not fit with the traditional timeline of telecoms equipment.
