A DC/DC converter for refrigeration display lighting (RDL) product using light emitting diodes (LEDs) as the lighting source is proposed in this paper. The paper briefly explains the history of these products and their contributions to the RDL systems. This DC/DC converter is designed in a buck-boost configuration which allows for high efficiency, current control of the LEDs, and dimming functionalities.
