Apparently, things have changed at the Federal Communications Commission, now that time is getting short for the resolution of the dueling Consensus/Compromise Plans and the rebanding of the 800 MHz strip of spectrum. Publicsafety entities, which long have been waiting for the FCC to do something about the past, present and future congestion on their channels - not to mention the lack of interoperability -may have to wait longer as Nextel and Verizon Wireless continue their war of words regarding who gets what and how much will be paid by the winner. Cops and firemen also may have to deal with a chairman who's getting tired fast of being bested in court.
